This Metacineta has captured a passing protist called Halteria. The tentacles have a sticky substance that captures prey and then are used as "straws" to suck the prey dry. Metacineta is on the left in this photo. Halteria is a cute little beast that hops around like a bouncing ball. Unfortunately, this Halteria will bounce no more!
